lyrics

by Billy Degge

Caged,
We sort through Pan’s lot
And lost,
is all I know.
Come spring,
Slag be all that left.
And fear.
Is all I can show.
For its
All I have.

It’s not enough.
I’m not enough.

And oh, the dark seems cold.
Whilst the lights dim on a lantern grown old.

I…I’m losing what’s left of me.
I’m breaking through my simple seem.
I’m wondering when I’ll next walk free.

Sweetly pretending that nothing needs mending,
Burn the thatch!

It’s an open question.
To which no one wants an answer.
In a sky which burns
crystals into crack.

Clutched
The doll be close by side
And far,
From any kind of land which I once knew.
Come Fall
All be torn to ashes
And shun
Is all I can do.
For its
All I have.

It’s not enough.
I’m not enough.

And oh, the dusk draws so near
That the sky moults to a clear

I…I’m losing what’s left of me.
I’m breaking through my simple seem.
I’m wondering when I’ll next walk free.

Sweetly pretending that nothing needs mending,
Burn the thatch!

It’s an open question.
To which no one wants an answer.
In a sky which burns
crystals into crack.
